AI;DR

TL;DR used to be an apology. Too long, didn’t read. The writer wrote too much, so here is the short version, sorry about that.

We need a new one.

AI;DR. AI, didn’t read.

Not too long. Just clearly not written by anyone. The em dashes doing shift work. The three-item lists where two would do. The confident summary of something nobody checked. The paragraph that says “in today’s fast-paced landscape” and then says nothing else for four hundred words.

The point of TL;DR was that attention is expensive. AI;DR is the same maths, one step further: if nobody spent attention writing it, I am not spending mine reading it.

It isn’t about the tool. I use the tool. It’s about whether a human was in the room when the thing was made. Whether someone read it back once and thought no, that’s not what I meant. You can feel the difference immediately, which is exactly why the label works.

So: AI;DR. Feel free to stick it under anything.
