I told ChatGPT about you

A busy pedestrian shopping street lined with shops and awnings. In the middle, a man walks away from the camera in a black T-shirt with pink handwritten lettering on the back reading "I TOLD CHATGPT ABOUT U."

Halfway down the shopping street, this walked past me.

A few years ago the same joke would have read I told my therapist about you. Same passive aggression, different confidant. Now it is a chat window, and everyone gets it well enough that you can sell it on a shirt to tourists.

That is the part I keep thinking about. Not the benchmarks or the funding rounds. A technology has properly arrived when it stops being a topic and becomes a punchline you can print in pink on a black tee and sell between the leather sandals and the fridge magnets.

Somewhere out there is a chat log about somebody. And they know.
