German election data, from the national picture down to every constituency
wahl.de is the brainchild of my friend Klas. We first built the site together for the 2013 Bundestag election, and for this latest iteration I had the pleasure of working with him again. We launched it just ahead of Berlin’s election on 20 September 2026. The premise is straightforward: election data should be readable before it needs explaining. You should be able to take in the shape of German politics quickly, then keep going when a number makes you curious.
The national view opens with the latest weighted polling average, changes since the last federal election, upcoming votes and the current composition of parliament. Party colours carry the hierarchy, while the interface stays quiet enough for the numbers to remain the loudest thing on the page.
The polling timeline adds elections and political events directly to the party lines. In the view below, “US-Angriff auf Iran” becomes part of the same visual history as the movements in the polls.

The useful bit is the transition between scales. A national percentage can become a state, a constituency and finally a named representative without sending you through a maze of disconnected tables. wahl.de works as a ten-second check, but it also rewards the next click.
